Vedaste Giraneza

ABC Working Ltd, Rwanda

Vedaste Giraneza, founder and owner of the ABC company, started his business by selling wood. It quickly developed into a carpentry workshop as Vedaste decided to capitalise upon the training he had received on business skills by adding value to the wood, transforming the raw material into furniture. And so the ABC Ltd company was created.  The process starts with the treatment and transformation of raw materials to the final furniture such as school desks, doors, bed, chairs and sofa. ABC Ltd also offers a wide variety of services including fixing any construction done with wood, repairing wooden materials and trading raw wood after being treated to the local market.

What is your personal ambition?

My ambition is to open a large furniture store made up of wooden material and to expand by business by supplying to both local and regional markets.

What impact do you see your business making?

My business increased employment opportunities and generated income to my staff and their families and of course to myself. In addition to that, I have provided the local market with locally produced equipment which can be a cost-effective substitute to imported goods.

How do you see the future of your business?

In the future, I would like to expand my business by establishing a regional network of distribution and raw material supply.
