Alice Jua

Morita Moro Piggery Project

Alice Jua from South Sudan, manages a piglet production business. According to Alice, Piglet production business is good business: the return on investment in the business is high because a female pig gives birth twice a year. Employment opportunities will increase considerably once a slaughterhouse is built, where Alice will also increase her services including manufacturing of soap by using the extracted fatty parts of the piglets.  New skills will be developed to keep integrating new ideas and projects within the piglet production business.

My ambition is to maximize production of pigs in affordable prices. Also I would like to change my business from back yard farming hobby to rearing modern pigs.

By taking good care of the piglets, I will be able to prevent the swine fever disease which will help me to generate more income as I will create a reputable business.

How do you see the future of your business?

I will contribute greatly to South Sudan’s economy. New employment opportunities will be created as we expand and the government will benefit from the taxes received.
