Scholarships for Western Balkans (S4WB)

Kosovo

S4WB is a database of scholarships for students from the Balkan region studying abroad. The project started on 1st October 2014 and will last for three years. The aim of the project is to make easier accessibility to the available scholarships for Western Balkans students and to better inform them of available scholarships. There is a lot of information on the internet but it is important to help students to find all scholarships in one place. It helps Western Balkans students to integrate into the European higher education system and increase their interest and support them in studying in the EU. The project goal is to better inform students from the Western Balkans about opportunities available to them to study abroad, scholarships and stipend through an integral inventory of them all.

Main activities and achievements made in part of development and improvement of the website as well as monitoring and coordinating online tool improvement. Users were introduced with distinction between active (marked in green) and closed scholarships (marked in red); website is available in Serbian, Macedonian, Bosnian and Albanian languages, beside English which was the base language.

The database has its own source of statistics and in the past this was the tool for counting number of visitors to the website. It counted all IP addresses which accessed the database, but this was not the most reliable source. Therefore the SPARK IT team in February 2015 made an account in Google Analytics. Google Analytics is more precisely, because it counts one IP address only the first time when user accesses the database.

For the period from 2nd February 2015 to 31st December 2015 there were 7,310 users out of which 15.6 % were returnees again after their initial registration.

For the period from 1st January 2016 to 31st December 2016 there were 78,32% new sessions and 21,5% returnees.
