Research on Investment Readiness of micro, small and medium size enterprises in 7 Countries PDF Print E-mail
The Global Entrepreneurship Conference 2009 (16-22nd of November) was organized for the second time in Skopje, Macedonia as part of the global entrepreneurship movement taking part in 70 countries worldwide. Constituted of a whole week of events contributing to the development of the regional entrepreneurship, the conference in Macedonia assembled guests and speakers from at least 7 countries. The overall idea was to offer activities (such as speeches, events, trainings, match-making events) which will focus on entrepreneurship, adding value in the process of building a more resourceful and organized entrepreneurial regional eco system which will motivate new and support already existing young entrepreneurs. The very important aspect of encouragement of young entrepreneurs via various activities and networking events was ensured; bringing in guests from out of the region countries enabled creation of linkages with the western markets on one hand, and provided basis for comparison of resources and capabilities on the other. All in all the idea of increasing the encouragement level of individuals who are starting new companies was interwoven.

korica.jpgDuring the 19th of November, the “Innovation turned into business - Research on Investment Readiness of micro, small and medium size enterprises (MSMEs) in Seven Countries in Southeast Europe” was presented, focusing specifically on the investment readiness of regional companies, part of the high tech sector. Special highlights were on alternative financing options and the level of awareness of the regional target companies about existing possibilities.

The achieved objectives were the following:
1. To present the outcomes of the survey undergone recently by the Youth Entrepreneurial Service (YES) Foundation in Skopje. The survey concentrated on the investment readiness of the micro and small enterprises of the hi-tech sector in Southeast Europe countries (Romania, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Montenegro). The findings were included in the content of the whole day in a way to create basis for further discussion between the target audiences: companies from the region, regional financial organizations and already established entrepreneurs who have received alternative financing and/or are interested to work with it in future;
2. To gather entrepreneurial minds from the region together (both from the financial and entrepreneurial side) and share their opinions and exchange ideas for cooperation;
3. To match-make potential partners from the region;
4. To increase the awareness of alternative financing options in Macedonia and via the media coverage, create regional awareness as well;
5. Regionally connect relevant parties and create “bridges” providing further development on the issue;
6. To trigger the interest of other institutions and organizations with similar initiatives, therefore assure future joint effort on the topic
