As of today, SPARK is starting its ambition to become the most transparent European Development Cooperation Organisation.
Through a new section of our website, partners, donors and the public at large will have full access to all details on our financial reports, (external) evaluation reports and impact measurement indicators. As a relatively new innovative organisation, SPARK believes that donors, beneficiaries and the general public have the right to know what our impact is, and how we spend their resources. On TranSPARKency Online you can read external evaluations for each of our activities and look at all our financials, down to the receipt level.
You see what we see - and nothing less.
Since its establishment in 1994, SPARK has published detailed annual reports and project reports. Now we have decided to also make our external evaluations publically available. The evaluations provide an external and independent judgment on the quality and impact of our work. We are proud of our successes and like to learn from our mistakes, and we are not afraid to share both openly.
In addition, we like to be transparent about your contributions to our work. If you'd like to know the salary of the Director of SPARK, the percentage of funds that SPARK receives to maintain its own organisation or the micro-credits SPARK currently has outstanding, you will now find all financial detail of our projects at your fingertips at TranSPARKency Online. As we continue our work, various indicators will also be added to analyze the large amounts of individual receipts. In addition, if you have a question about any receipt you see online, you can use the built-in clarification request system (the blue question mark button).
By 1 July 2010 we aim to have fully automated the link between our outcome and impact, and the financial records. We will then be able to share all sort of other details about our work with you, such as how much it costs for SPARK to create a job in a particular developing country we work in.
Visit Transparkency Online now and find out how we are aiming to become Europe's most transparent development organisation.
