EU Day Celebration and European Day of Entrepreneur |

The European Day of the Entrepreneur is a major meeting point for entrepreneurship. It is a day that gathers entrepreneurs and all interested institutions in entrepreneurship development. During the day, knowledge is exchanged, contacts are made and entrepreneurship spirit is fostered and recognised. This year, the first edition of the European SME Week is being organised, coordinated by the European Business Association in the Republic of Macedonia.
The European Day of the Entrepreneur lasted from 6 till 8 May 2009 and events were held in Bitola and Skopje. Elaborated topics during the confernece days were:
6 May 2009, Bitola:
1. Stories of Pelagonia: Rural tourism
2. Cross-border cooperation – Perspective for further improvements
3. Success stories in rural tourism
4. How to market rural tourism products?
8 May 2009, Skopje:
1. European Integration of Macedonian SMEs sector – possibilities and benefits
2. Local self-government and development of SME’s – promotion of successful examples
3. Model for entrepreneurial university
4. Economic crisis and SME financing
The Conferences aims to:
- Promote entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial spirit
- Create a room for private and public representatives discussion on the general policies for development of the entrepreneurship and SME’s
- Provide possibilities of regional experiences exchange and foster regional cooperation between SME support agencies and regional SME’s
- Raise discussion on topics such as education, research and development
- Discuss the progress of the establishment of the Regional MA Programme and Bachelor Course in Entrepreneurship
