IT Outsourcing to the Balkan PDF Print E-mail
On 20 November (2008) Spark organised an evening for Dutch companies that want to know everything about IT outsourcing to the Balkan. Why should you go there and how to make it successful?

As a result of this evening, the Dutch companies got more insight into the opportunities and pitfalls when outsourcing to the Balkan. Moreover, the IT companies from Macedonia and Serbia that were present, received a better insight into the Dutch market. Below you get an impression of the evening and you can download the presentations of the speakers.

Introduction to IT Offshoring by Paul Tjia: "increasing interest for IT offshoring, especially among smaller users"

Paul Tjia is one of the most experienced IT offshoring consultants in the Netherlands. He is co-author of the book
Offshoring Information Technology and director of GPI Consultancy.

Tjia recognises opportunities for Dutch companies to
outsource to the Balkan. Especially for SMEs (MKB),
because of the medium size of IT companies in the
Balkans (between 20 to 300 people), good infrastructure
and same time zone.

Opportunities for Dutch companies: "Balkan
companies dare to say no"

Bart Omlo (Vice president HintTech Engineering)
and Sander Janssen (Project Manager
Clockwork)
explained why and how their companies
outsource IT
projects to the Balkan.
HintTech partners with with a
company in Novi Sad, Serbia. Clockwork
is regularly outsourcing projects via Levi9, a Dutch intermediary
that has a partner in Serbia.

Advantages: cultural fit, not say "yes" to impossible jobs (like Indian companies), no time difference, easy to travel
