BSC delegation visited Polish business incubation, entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives |

From the 12th until the 16th of May 2008, BSC delegation visited Business Incubation, Entrepreneurship and Innovation initiatives in Poland, as a part of “Business Start-up Centres and Business Incubators in the SEE” project.
The delegation consisted of twelve policy makers, business sector representatives and academic staff of Universities from the Western Balkan region, i.e. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. The delegation visited various business incubators in Lodz, Kalisz, Warsaw and Ostrzeszow, local economic development and public institutions in Poland, Center for Innovation FIRE. In addition, Study Tour participants participated at two trainings related to best practices in establishment, management and sustainability of business incubators conducted by Ms. June Lavelle. Ms. Lavelle has been working in the business and workforce development services fields for over 30 years and is a widely recognized authority on systematic approaches to support new business formation and improve the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises through business development services.
The Study Tour not only intended to provide knowledge and to exchange experiences on business incubation development with Polish counterparts responsible for support and development of business incubators, entrepreneurship, innovation and education, but also to enhance the understanding and implementation of business incubation concept and entrepreneurship in general.
