After completing university courses in economics and information technology, Senad Hukic and Dino Abalkovic found themselves looking for job in a turbulent Bosnian market. Having always had entrepreneurial ambitions to work for themselves and make their own way, they decided to start the company. About the same time, SPARK (formerly ATA) opened a business plan competition for students and graduates offering wonderful €10.000 and €5.000 awards.
With great business plan we won the second prize and 5.000 Euro award, which not only gave us the starting finances, but also confirmed and improved the initial business idea. Jan. 2007 we found EDS – LABS, a software company. Following the business plan we started developing ERP software as our own product, module by module.
A year later we have developed three solid ERP modules which we sell separately. We have also developed our prime product SMS School, which is intended for informing parents of their children’s status in schools through mobile SMS messages. Because software development is a timely process, our first year was mostly dedicated to the development of our products. Only lately, we started selling, and quite successfully too.
Currently, we are completing global web version of SMS school project. As it has been our long term plan and an ambition from the start, we are now entering an outsourcing market. In cooperation with BosnIT, Bosnian IT entrepreneurial network, we are now offering our services to western markets, primarily in Netherlands and USA. We have a team of 7 software developers that can take on any project.
Although we have only started, it is our ambition to establish firmly on the local market as a software solution provider, and also on foreign markets as an outsourcing provider.
