The European Day of Entrepreneur was organized in the Republic of Macedonia on 09th May 2007 for the second time. The leader of the organization was European Business Association in close cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Macedonia, Agency for entrepreneurship promotion of the Republic of Macedonia, City of Skopje, Macedonian Enterprise Development Foundation.
The European Day of Entrepreneur provided ample opportunities for international, regional and national experts to discuss about private sector development, entrepreneurship support and promotion, SME growth and future economic development priorities of the Republic of Macedonia and Western Balkan region in general. Speakers from the EU, Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia, and UNMIK/Kosovo participated in the event and shared experiences on topics such as SME development policy, EU integration, Corporate Social Responsibility, entrepreneurship and tourism, business start-up centres and incubators, ICT and SME competitiveness, IPA funds, alternative instruments for financing, and entrepreneurial learning.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Zoran Stavreski, Vice-President of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, EC Delegation Head Mr Erwan Fouere, Skopje Mayor Mr Trifun Kostovski, and Mr Dimitar Ristovski, Director of the European Business Association.
During the event the winner of the Business Plan Competition of the Business Start-up Centre (BSC) at the University in Skopje was awarded by Austrian Ambassador Mr Philipp Hoyos and BSC Director Prof. Radmil Polenakovik.
