“Euro Consulting Macedonia” won the first prize at the regional PSD business plan competition 2007 striving to become the leading company in Macedonia in the field of consultancy services related to preparation, application and management of projects submitted for financing from various EU funds. The team aims to establish consulting company which will offer and provide expert assistance to eligible applicants for EU funding in Macedonia.

"Euro Consulting Macedonia" will offer high quality consultancy services related to preparation, application and management of projects submitted for financing from various EU funds. Potential clients will be fully informed about latest developments in the field of EU funding possibilities and Company will develop tailor-made services that will suit customer’s needs.

REGIONAL BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION 2007

During the first round of the business plan competition process SPARK received more than 30 applications that were examined and evaluated by the international jury which consists of renowned international experts and successful entrepreneurs: Mr. Mehrdad Etemad, Ms Elsa Herman, Mr Nick Norvell and Ms Bernadette Blom. Out of 30 applications, 15 business ideas were shortlisted and the successful applicants were awarded a week long training in Podgorica, Montenegro, held by Mr. Gilbert Silvius. The deadline for the second round was September 15th, 2007.

Finally, top three teams were invited for the formal presentation of their business plans in front of the international jury at the Business Start-Up Center Bitola, Macedonia on October 17th, 2007.

The lump sum of 20,000 euro was available for the startup capital for the best three plans. Prizes are to be used for the implementation of business plans or for additional (market) research. The awards were tailor made and were adjusted to the needs of the each individual business plan. The winners of the BPC 2007 received not only the financial support but also full consultancy and technical advice.

Principal clients of the Company are expected to be institutions and organisations from Macedonia that are eligible for funding from the EU programs: 1. The Government of the Republic of Macedonia (ministries and public institutions) 2. Local Government institutions 3. Private entities (profit and non-profit).

Mr. Darko Ivanovski, the leader of the "Euro Consulting Macedonia" stated: "My team members and me would like to start this initiative primarily to use the expertise we have acquired through our education and employment to establish a business which will be profitable and which will also contribute to the development of our country. Currently, there are no private consultancy companies in Macedonia which specialise in preparing applications and managing projects for EU funds. By establishing a consultancy company focusing in this field, we hope to fill this void in the market and provide expert assistance to eligible applicants for EU funds in Macedonia. The vision that I have for my business 5 years from now “Euro Consulting Macedonia” will be a synonym for excellence in project application and management vis-à-vis EU funds.

We would like to become the leading company in our field and to share our experiences in the region. By the end of the five year period, we anticipate that we will have successfully managed several EU-funded projects which will contribute to the better life of Macedonian society".

Students from Kosovo participated in the regional business plan competition with their project “Te Fala”.

“Te Fala” project aims to create an online platform which will enable Albanians worldwide to place an order online and consequently establish closer ties with their families at home by sending gifts. Introducing this service, the business project will fulfil the needs of Albanians who lives abroad to feel closer to their families by means of gifts and care, even when they are not physically beside them.

Mr. Driton Nikaj, the leader of the "Te Fala" stated that he wanted to challenge himself and establish his own company. This business will give him the opportunity to implement and manage his business ideas, to generate new jobs and to be more financially independent.

Innovative business idea, “Small Power Wind Generators (Turbines) For Individual Production of Electric Power” won the third prize at the third PSD regional business plan competition 2007. Winning the third place at the competition brought excellent opportunities to the group of young students from Serbia to start their own business and bring an innovative way of energy production into Serbian and European energy market.

“Small Power Wind Generators (Turbines) For Individual Production of Electric Power” was developed by en expert team with an expertise in aero-nautical engineering and international experience in research and development of new products and patented products from this area. The product is based on invention which includes new position and design of wings (vertical rotor) and self-regulated open-close surface of wings system. This provides advantages compared to classic wind systems with horizontal rotor. Furthermore, production and installation do not require high tech skills as well as it provides possibility to employ disabled persons.
