The Bologna Process – Towards the European Higher Education Area
The Bologna Process aims to create an European Higher Education Area based on international cooperation and academic exchange that is attractive to European and international students and staff, and which provide them with a wide range of high quality courses. Steered by European Ministers responsible for Higher Education, the Bologna Process is supported by universities, public authorities and international institutions and organisations, of which SPARK is one.
The Bologna Agreements of 1999 has put in motion a series of reforms needed to make European Higher Education more compatible and comparable, more competitive and more attractive. Three priorities are the introduction of the three cycle system (bachelor - master - doctorate), quality assurance and the recognition of qualifications and periods of study.
