Business Start Up Center Kosovo has finalized the first of its three cycles. After months of tireless work in organizing and leading competitions and trainings the time had come to put the finishing touch in order consider the first cycle a success. On June 1st 2007 in the premises of Hotel Grand in Pristina, Business Start Up Center Kosovo held a grand Ceremony celebrating three occasions:

Awarding ECTS accredited Certificates to successful participants of the 10-week Business Skills Training;

Solemn signing of an MoU between the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture and BSCK. In this MoU it is agreed that the BSCK will train 600 young people and will assist in establishing 300 new micro businesses in Kosovo with the support from the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture;

Award ceremony for the 10 Best Business Plans that will get BSCK support for turning their
plans into real businesses.
Around 300 guests were present at the ceremony, amongst which representatives of the Government, University of Pristina, Private Universities, other institutions and prominent individuals, representatives of local and international GO's and NGO's as well as media representatives.
Mr. Besnik Krasniqi one of the experts working on development of the curricula for the BST delivered the ECTS certificates for the 10 week long Business Skills Training to the 42 Participants who stood out from other guests with the solemn golden robes they were wearing. The guests of honor held laudatory speeches in which they praised the participants for their will and optimism toward the accomplishment of their professional goals which, too, will have positive impacts on Kosovo's economy.
In his speech Mr.Salih Morina, Director of Youth Department within the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, highlighted the importance of the cooperation between his Ministry, the World Bank and the BSCK. The MoU making the collaboration between the two institutions official was solemnly signed after the speech by Mr. Morina and Philip Hostert (manager of BSC's).
In her speech Mrs. Margriet Struiff (The Head of Dutch Liasion Office in Pristina) compared the young entrepreneurs to conglomerates such as Philips, and Shell who once started small but with determination, persistence and hard work, have achieved the position they hold in the world market. The announcement of the names of the 10 Best Business Plans was a surprise to everyone. It was then and there that the winners were announced and shared their, amazement, happiness and enthusiasm with everyone present.
In his closing speech Minister Bujar Dugolli (Ministry of Trade and Industry) amongst congratulatory words on BSCK work added by saying ‘Today with the help of BSCK 10 new exceptional companies have been added to the Ministry of Trade and Industry'. Among other things Minister Dugolli pointed that with significant work of organizations such as BSCK, Kosovo's secure path towards economic development will be established.

The ceremony ended with a cocktail where international and local invitees exchanged their impressions about BSCK's Business Plan Competition. It was noted by the guests that the trainings and methodology used by BSC bring practical knowledge and professionalism significantly needed by Kosovo's businesses in their future business endeavors.
